Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MedAtlas ("MedAtlas," "we," "us"), an anatomy and physiology learning tool. By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using MedAtlas, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What MedAtlas is (and isn't)

MedAtlas is an educational tool for exploring human anatomy, physiology, and disease mechanisms. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. See our Medical Disclaimerfor details — it's incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Accounts

You can use a lot of MedAtlas without an account. Creating one (by email and password, or by subscribing) means you're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and payment

The Student plan is billed annually through Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store your full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless canceled. See our Supportpage for how to cancel or request a refund — as an early-stage product, cancellations and refunds are currently handled by a human, not a self-serve button, and we mean that honestly rather than as a dark pattern: email us and we'll sort it out promptly.

4. Community content

Some content on MedAtlas is contributed or generated and has not yet been reviewed by a licensed clinician. We label this honestly wherever it appears ("agent-checked" / "community draft" vs. "expert-validated") and we never present unvalidated clinical claims as authoritative. You're responsible for treating unvalidated content accordingly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use MedAtlas to provide or imply medical advice to others without appropriate qualification and clear caveats;
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute MedAtlas content in bulk without permission;
• Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or overload the service;
• Upload content that infringes someone else's rights or violates the law.

6. Intellectual property

MedAtlas and its underlying software, design, and canon content are owned by us or our licensors. 3D assets are sourced under open licenses (see LICENSES.md in our repository); anatomical atlas illustration styles are inspired by public traditions (Netter, Rohen, Sobotta, Grant's) but no copyrighted atlas artwork is reproduced.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

MedAtlas is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of MedAtlas, including any decision made in reliance on content that turns out to be inaccurate or not yet expert-validated.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do; continued use after a change means you accept the update.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MedAtlas is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (Placeholder — set this to your actual operating jurisdiction before relying on this document, and have it reviewed by counsel.)
